Why is Design so Important?
We like to make the analogy between painting a house, and doing research.
Painting a house well requires considerable preparation of the surfaces before the new paint is actually applied. You can of course simply paint straight onto the old surface but 6 months later and the paint will look just as tired as it was before you painted it. Even worse the paint may simply peel off.
Similarly if the research design is poor, the analysis, interpretation and usefulness of the research will be of reduced, little and sometimes of no value to you.
Sadly our experience is that most research in the Pacific suffers from poor design.
We believe we excel in research design. We will explain why we recommend a design process in an easy to understand language.
[For those that already know, our aim is to reduce the confounding variables to be as few as feasibly possible.]
